Culver House is a two hundred year old town house situated in the centre of the town next to the school. It has been completely refurbished to provide a high standard of accommodation for those students studying at Margate Language Centre who prefer self-catering accommodation.

Accommodation
Culver House is fully furnished and comprises 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 kitchens and a sitting/dining-room. In addition there is a private courtyard equipped with garden furniture. The property has individually controlled central heating in all rooms. There are two twin rooms and one double room, each with its own hand-basin, shower and WC. The double room has its own kitchen. Each bedroom has its own TV & Radio. There is WI-FI internet access throughout the building for students bringing their own laptops. (Students may also use the internet café in the school) Both fully fitted kitchens are equipped with fridge / freezer, microwave oven, electric oven, toaster, kettle, and washing machine (clothes) The communal kitchen has a tumble-dryer, iron /ironing board and vacuum cleaner. In addition there is a clothes-line in the courtyard. The sitting/dining room has a TV and DVD with a library of films. There are also board games and books. There is a payphone for use by residents. Smoking is not permitted in any part of the building.
Fresh bed linen and towels are provided weekly.
The accommodation is cleaned throughout once a week but guests are expected to maintain a reasonable level of cleanliness.

Culver House is WI-FI (high-speed wireless internet access) enabled. Students with WI-FI enabled notebook computers can access the internet and check their e-mails from anywhere in the building and in the garden.
Skype.com would allow you to use your portable computer to make cheap calls to friends and family back home.

Culver House has an integrated fire alarm and smoke detection system and is protected at the front and rear by security cameras.

Tuition
Students staying at Culver House may join any of the Standard or Intensive group courses at Margate Language Centre. Individual lessons are also provided at Margate Language Centre in the afternoons.
A student may also have individual lessons at time of day at Culver House, morning, afternoon or evening and at weekends. In addition social afternoons and evenings can be arranged (e.g. cultural, traditional pub, castles, gardens Canterbury cathedral etc) accompanied by a native speaker.

Please also note that we reserve the right to use the sittings room during morning class times of 9:30 to 1 pm for one to one lessons so long as there are no guests staying at Culver House without joining lessons.

Christmas Holidays
Margate Language Centre closes for 2 weeks over Christmas and New Year.
Culver House is available during this period for students wanting accommodation at the standard rates.
Individual lessons and tailor made programme can be arranged during this period (excluding the official bank holidays) The tuition fees for this programme would be quoted on request.

All students staying at Culver House are Margate Language Centre students and therefore have access to all the facilities at the school and are welcome to join the social activities and club evenings.
